Some Tips if You Don’t Have a Mobile Website

By on October 17, 2012

Mobile internet users are increasing by leaps and bounds and so are the total number of websites,  but what is still making it difficult for mobile internet users is the format on which most websites are built.  Generally, websites developed on WordPress need to be equipped with mobile plug-ins to allow mobile devices to view its content, but most website developers seldom do that and as a result, an ordinary website fails to work smoothly on a mobile device and its browsers.  Though, third party browsers have been developed that certainly offer some relief but something must be done on the website developer’s side.

Here are some of the points that one should remember to build a mobile website or mobile business website:

  • Avoid Too Many Images

This is something you should always remember, not just because mobile users find it difficult to open a website filled with several images, but even search engines have no sue of images. They are going to judge the text only then why bothered with photographs that just add to the overall size of your website and makes it difficult for your mobile viewers to open it.

  • Add Plug-ins

There are not many business organizations with separate mobile websites and when you build one separately, you must not forget to add the required plug-ins so that it will easily be opened on all mobile browsers. If you are satisfied with the performance of some of the free plugins, you can try the free ones.

  • E-Commerce Features

Added features of E-commerce often become an obstacle for mobile users to open an ordinary website. To overcome this issue, you must have two separate portals or links on the same page for computer and mobile users.  Most mobile business websites today are engaged in selling products and services, so this must be remembered compulsorily.

  • Separate Mobile Website

If the above is not enough to get your website working well on a mobile device, you may need go build a separate, mobile website. It is best to consult with a mobile website company if you would like to have a mobile site/app built for your business.
